Newly Re-designed P-Series Gearbox improves Backlash, Corrosion Resistance and Center Distance between Input and Outputs!

Precision Gears (Inch)

A gear is a rotating part that utilizes cut teeth or cogs to mesh with another toothed part—usually another gear or a linear toothed part (called a gear rack)—to transmit rotational motion and torque. Using a combination of precision gears, including spur gears, spur pinion shafts, spur gear racks, helical gears, bevel gears, miter gears, worm and wormwheels with the correct ratio, the speed, torque, and even direction of a power source can be changed.

Precision Gears Product Options

Ondrives.US is a leading manufacturer of precision gears for all applications. We provide precision gears in standard and custom inch-measure sizes and a variety of configurations, including spur gears, anti-backlash gears, worm gears, helical gears, bevel gears, miter gears, pinion gears, and more.
We also offer a full line of precision gears in metric sizes.

Spur Gears

Comprised of a cylinder or disk with teeth that project radially, inch spur gears are designed to mesh with other spur gears to turn parallel shafts in opposite directions. For applications where two shafts/gears must rotate in the same direction, a third spur gear called an idler gear, can be installed between the two. Spur gears are available in the following material options:
  • 303 stainless steel
  • 2024-T4 Anodized aluminum
  • Acetal
  • Bronze
  • Custom material options

Spur Pinion Shafts

A pinion is the smallest gear in a gear drive set. When it is the driver in a gear set it creates a speed reduction and a torque increase. It can also be installed as the driven unit creating higher output speed. We offer pinion gears and pinion shafts for all gear drive applications, with spur, helical, and bevel options available to fit your system. Spur pinion shafts are available in the following materials:
  • 303 stainless steel
  • Custom material options

Spur Gear Racks

A gear rack, or rack gear, is a linear or gradually curved metal rod with a row of spur gear teeth or helical gear teeth machined down the length. Gear racks are used with gears to convert rotary motion into linear motion or to convert linear motion into rotary motion. Our inch spur gear racks are designed to mate with our spur gears and are available with a rectangular or round rod as the base. Spur gear racks are available in the following materials:
  • 416 stainless steel
  • 2024-T4 anodized aluminum
  • Custom material options

Helical Gears

Ondrives.US’ inch helical gears feature 45°-angled teeth and are available with left-hand or right-hand helixes. Helical gears offer a smoother and stronger motion. When helical gears of the opposite hand work together, they act like spur gears to turn parallel shafts. Same-hand helical gears will turn shafts 90° from each other. Helical gear material options include:

Worm Gears & Worms

The design of worm gears and worms enables them to provide a high reduction ratio in limited space. Our worms and worm gears make up the most compact gear system we offer and provide smooth, ultra-quiet operation in most applications. Worm and worm gear material options include:
  • 303 stainless steel
  • Bronze alloys
  • Custom material options
