Newly Re-designed P-Series Gearbox improves Backlash, Corrosion Resistance and Center Distance between Input and Outputs!
Jaw Couplings (Spider Couplings)
Jaw-type couplings (spider couplings) are 3-piece units comprised of two aluminum hubs encapsulating an elastomeric element. By design, jaw couplings are a relatively balanced coupler capable of high torque transmittal and high speeds with little or no backlash.
Ondrives.US Spider couplings come in curved jaw and Cardan jaw styles designed to absorb vibration and handle misalignment in servo motor, stepper motor, and general-purpose motor applications. We offer a broad range of options to meet your misalignment, speed, and torque requirements.

- Curved Jaw Couplings handle angular shaft misalignment and small amounts of parallel misalignment. Use curved jaw couplings in applications involving minimal to moderate shaft misalignment.
- Cardan Jaw couplings have an extended length that doubles the angular misalignment capability and exponentially increases the radial misalignment capability. Choose Cardan jaw couplings for applications involving significant shaft misalignment.
Selecting Flexible Jaw Couplings for Shaft Misalignment
Bore size, torque, misalignment capacity, and RPM are critical in ensuring a jaw coupling meets your performance requirements. Our flexible jaw couplings feature polyurethane spider elements in 80A (Blue), 98A (Red), or 92A (White) shore hardnesses, which exhibit different operational characteristics. View the Curved Jaw Coupling and Cardan Jaw Coupling spec sheets for a breakdown of the torque rating and torsional stiffness by individual product. We also developed a Misalignment Coupling Selection Guide to help you select the most appropriate shaft coupling for your application. This guide covers important items to consider based on each type of performance criteria. If you have additional questions or an application with unique performance requirements, our engineers are here to help.
